Initial Visits

We understand that each patient's orthodontic treatment is different, and we promise to give you the personal attention you deserve. The following is an explanation of your initial visits to our office as well as other visits if treatment is recommended.

Exam

We look forward to meeting you on your first visit to our office. Your first visit will consist of an examination, facial and oral photographs, panographic x-ray, and a discussion of potential treatment options. This important visit will address your orthodontic needs to determine if this is the proper time to begin treatment. You will leave with a written summary of the findings that outlines your treatment and estimated fees. We encourage questions from both the patient and the parent, and as such, we provide ample time to answer your questions.

Diagnostic Records

If treatment is recommended, a records appointment will then be scheduled to take further x-rays and impressions for mounted study models.

Consultation

Once the diagnostic records are taken, you will then be scheduled for a consultation appointment. Our doctors will have evaluated your records in order to explain all aspects of your treatment in detail. At that time we will provide a complete clinical diagnosis regarding the nature of the problem, and a detailed treatment plan.

For our child and adolescent patients, the braces will be placed at the consultation appointment. For our adult patients, placement of braces will usually be scheduled at a different appointment following the consultation.

If treatment is not indicated at this time, the patient will be placed on a recall at no charge until treatment is recommended.
